Export approval covers all administrative steps and documents required to legally import a military vehicle into a third country.
Documents required for military vehicle export:
- Certificate of origin (Form A or EUR1 for the EU)
- Commercial invoice in French and English
- Packing list
- French customs clearance certificate (proof of release for free circulation in France)
- Deactivation certificate (for vehicles that had military equipment)
- Maintenance log if available
- Conformity certificate (depending on the destination country)
Some African countries also require:
- A pre-shipment inspection certificate (PSI — Pre-Shipment Verification of Import) by a licensed body (Bureau Veritas, SGS, Intertek)
- An import authorisation issued by the local ministry of commerce
