Incoterm

International rules defining the delivery obligations between seller and buyer.

Full glossary

Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) are standardised commercial terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that precisely define the obligations, costs and risks between seller and buyer during an international transaction.

The main Incoterms used in the trade of military vehicles to Africa:

  • EXW (Ex-Works): the seller makes the vehicle available at their warehouse. The buyer takes care of all transport and risks.
  • FOB (Free On Board): the seller delivers the vehicle on board the ship at the port of loading. Risks and costs pass to the buyer as soon as the vehicle is on board.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight): the seller pays for transport and insurance up to the port of destination. Risks pass to the buyer as soon as the vehicle is on board.
  • DAP (Delivered At Place): the seller delivers to the agreed destination address, without import customs clearance.
  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): the seller delivers and clears customs at destination — turnkey solution.

Lys Tout Terrain typically offers quotes on EXW, FOB Le Havre/Antwerp or CIF African port terms.
